ERIN CARTER BRENT CARTER Erin and Brent first caught each other’s eye many moons ago while studying teaching at university. The pair started dating and, on a picturesque day at Casuarina Beach, Brent popped the big question. For their big day, family and friends from all over the globe gathered in Darwin to celebrate their love. Erin even learned a valuable lesson on her wedding day. “I had purchased new shoes for the wedding and, although I had tried them on, I didn’t try walking in them,” she said. “Unfortunately on the day the shoes proved to be a little bit big and my heels kept slipping out. “After a few tears and a couple of extra laps around the city, I managed to compose myself and walk extra slowly down the aisle with my dad. “It’s something I can laugh about now — but not at the time! “It taught me a valuable lesson when buying new shoes — always try and walk in them before buying them!” But the shoes didn’t cause an issue when the newlyweds had their first dance together as man and wife to ‘Wade in Your Water’ by Common Kings. Erin and Brent enjoyed a dream honeymoon that took in the island nations of Singapore, Sri Lanka and the Maldives.
