Pickard on course for likely win

-

CAROL Pickard will have a strong say in the feature $1800 SBA Office National Golden Muzzle final at Winnellie Park tonight.

She will have Amanpour, with the benefit of box one, and Arabian Khaleese engaged.

Two-year-old Amanpour has been in fine form so far this year, winning four of her races and coming second in five.

Her only other run of 2017 was a seventh over 312m on New Year’s Day.

Stablemate and fellow twoyear-old bitch Arabian Khaleese has two fourths and a third from her past three runs.

In the other feature – race four for $1700 over 537m – Jamie Hosking’s Arnhem Rogue will stretch out in distance and is capable of a strong showing.

The veteran four-year-old has picked up a third and second in his past two runs.

Chris Blackman’s Sublime Countess, Pontypiari (Graeme Ferns), Outlaw Clyde (Jamie Hosking), Bee Flash (Richard Smith), Never Fear and Dothraki (Pickard and Ferns in race six), I’m Late and Tiger’s Spark (Hosking and Pickard in race eight), Booberry (Joel Vansleve) and Gossip Park (three-straight wins for Peter Donnolley) are other threats.

Vansleve’s Spyro Ignitus, winning over 312m last week, is set for race six over 383m.
