THE 2017 Territory Taste Festival has been hailed as good enough to be in New York, with punters claiming it was “much better than last year”.

Guest chef Kevin Cherkas travels to about 10 food festivals around the world every year.

“T “This is absolutely awesome,” he said. “There’s good food, good people and an amazing venue.”

Mr Cherkas, who was running the Cuca stall and showing off his famous Bali Breakfast, said he thought this year’s festival stacked up well against other major events.

“It’s just so good for Darwin to host ost an event that would work in bigger cities like Melbourne and Sydney,” he said. “This is what you’d find at massive food festivals in New York and Chicago. This isn’t a second rate festival – it’s the absolute best it could be.”
