Ferns and Spykers take centre stage for last leg of All Rounder

-

GRAEME Ferns’s Macaloney, or the Hans Spykers pair of Batavia’s Jewel and Stoker Up, are the most likely greyhounds to salute in the last leg of the Clarke Constructions Best All Rounder Series at Winnellie Park tonight.

No doubt, 537m specialist and 2016 Greyhound of the Year Arnhen Villain – for reigning Darwin champion trainer Jamie Hosking – is also capable of a strong showing in the $1800 race-seven feature.

In the other feature run, Hosking’s speedy Wayne Outwide appears to be the likely leader in the $1750 Sky Channel Sprint race five, also over 537m.

Black Jungle (Richard Smith) should appreciate box one, while Arabian Khaleese (Carol Pickard) and Magic Cruiser ( Hans Spykers) are also in the mix.

Quick Foot could be suited in box one for trainer Richard Carr, so should be respected in the first race of the program at 6.05pm.

The Leta Smith-trained Nanny Jenny could appreciate the wide draw and is among the better chances in race two.

Ferns has a strong say in race three, with Swansea Shannon and Likeshell engaged.

The Chris Blackmantrained Sublime Countess was highly impressive also from the box eight in victory last week, and there is no reason she cannot repeat in race four.

It will be a quality sprint in race six with plenty of chances, including Dainty Culprit for premiership-leading Russell Savige.

Fabbenz (Ferns) was also impressive in her last outing, winning over 312m on May 21.

Mystic Style (Blackman) won last week and appears the top contender in race eight.

Race nine will be competitive, and the Robert Browntrained Yorgi Road from box one can figure in the finish. trainer

Savige will think Noddin Off and Volantis will also be up there.

Hosking seems to be getting Hello Joan back to near her best, which would make her hard to beat in race 10.

And Sweet Crystal (also for Hosking) from box one can send punters home on a winning note in race 11 of a quality program.
