VICKI ROSSIDES, 23 NICHOLAS TRIKILIS, 30 Vicki and Nicholas met through mutual friends in Darwin more than six years ago and tied the knot recently in front of 550 guests. To get to that point Nicholas needed to ask the big question, and he did so when he and Vicki, who had then been together for five happy years, were on holiday in Greece in 2015. “We were at a beautiful hotel in Kalymnos when he asked me,” Vicki said. Of course she said yes. For the bride-to-be the most stressful part of planning the big day was deciding on the seating arrangements, which was especially tricky with so many guests to consider. The best part of the planning process? “Picking the wedding dress!” Vicki said. “It was lots of fun.” The happy couple said everything about their special day was a highlight. “The whole day was amazing,” Vicki said. “We could not have wished for more.” The big crowd, which included three bridesmaids and four groomsmen, ensured a party atmosphere at the reception, where guests were entertained by a band from Greece and DJ Bill Catis. With such a big event to organise, the honeymoon was put on the back burner, and Vicki and Nicholas will head off to Europe in August this year. “There we will visit Greece, Paris and Italy for three weeks,” Vicki said. “We can’t wait.” MET Through friends THE DRESS A full-skirted Karen Willis Holmes design with a beautifully detailed bodice CEREMONY Greek Orthodox Church RECEPTION Kalymnos Hall PHOTOGRAPHER George F Photography
