H ello, I’m Johnny Cash! Thanks for remembering me last Sunday at the Johnny Cash Memorial clay target shoot. NT Field and Game pulled off another great memorial day to those heroes of our youth. We had a good turnout of eight squads with what we believe is a record for ladies’ participation. Ten ladies had a go and their scores are now beating those up to A Grade. Good on ya gals.

Our past president, Gavin Lovelock, showed the targets weren’t as hard as some might have thought and only dropped three on his last lap to take out High Gun. The course was a ripper and the first time NTFGA has been able to set a ground entirely with auto traps. When you see our trap mechanics, Bedgy and Brocky, be sure to thank them for their efforts. Please see NT Field and Game Facebook for scores. FRIDAY FLUSH

The Flush is back on Friday night this week. If you enjoy your clays fast and furious join in the fun when the lights come on at the Five Stand ground. This is NT Field and Game’s

signature tune when it comes to clay target fun. MANGO CROP PROTECTION

Richard Norris attended a meeting with mango growers, NT Parks and Wildlife Commission and the NT Police on May 25. He promoted the benefit of NTFGA hunting programs and was supported by Charles Darwin Uni research data and the testimonials from farms we have protected to date. If you want to get on board with “The Protectors”, remember you must be a current NTFGA member, have shot two competition events and attended two working bees since January 1, 2017. If you have forgotten to support the club, time is running out. Come on down. FESTIVAL OF CLAYS

We are now entering the height of the dry season and look forward to the Festival of Clays three-day shoot on the Darwin Show Day weekend, July 28, 29 and 30. This event will include the 50T Five Stand NT Championship (Friday), 75T SXS NT Championship (Saturday, with U/O prizes), and 100T NT Sim Field Championship (Sunday). A gala dinner on Saturday night will be catered for with plenty of game delicacies to add some spice to the menu. All competitors will have an equal chance to win a Fausti Wetland Camo 12ga shotgun, valued at $1720, kindly donated by Coolalinga Guns and Ammo. Please support this business for its generosity.

Weekly Friday night practice continues at Micket Creek Shooting Complex, Brandt Rd, Knuckey Lagoon, plus the monthly Sunday morning practice is on from 9am next Sunday, July 2. There are now two grounds with the token system in operation. The ranges will be open from 3pm on Fridays for those who plan ahead and pre purchase ammo and tokens. The sales desk normally opens at 5pm.
