World UFO Day craze sweeps NT
TODAY is World UFO Day and a mass of sightings are expected in their favourite holiday spot – the NT.
The goal of today’s out-ofthis-world celebrations is to raise awareness of “the undoubted existence of UFOs” and to encourage governments to declassify their files on UFO sightings.
The much-anticipated day comes amid a recent sighting by a Bayview boatie and as a new trend called alien yoga sweeps the NT.
The bizarre move is a yoga cleansing exercise, called Nauli. Those who can master the move – dubbed “Alien Yoga” – cleanse their internal organs by rolling abdominal muscles side-to-side.
City Yoga Zone instructor Carmela Taylor said it was an advanced move, but an impressive one to watch.
She is yet to meet anyone in Darwin who has mastered the exercise in its entirety.
“Men can do it because you need to have quite defined (abdominal) muscles to do it,” she said. “It’s a very old yogi move.” She said there was no breath in your lungs while you rolled your stomach.
At her studio, participants do the first stage of Nauli, but do not roll their ab muscles.
According to Nauli.org, even new students can master the move with practice.
“Although Nauli can be taught to people of any age, it is a powerful action that can cause discomfort or possibly minor injury,” the site warns.
“Learning from an experienced yoga teacher is recommended.”
