Greene cops an amber cupful after Dahlhaus clash

-

TOBY Greene copped an early shower on Friday night but it wasn’t one he wanted.

It came from the beer cup of a Bulldogs fan who was venting his anger over the boot to the face of Luke Dahlhaus in the third quarter of the 48point belting of the premiers.

Giants officials have informed the AFL of a post-game incident and have also asked host broadcaster Channel Seven if it has any vision of the clash which happened when the GWS players were walking up the race after their win at Etihad Stadium. “Yeah, there was a bit said after the game,” Greene’s teammate Heath Shaw said. “Obviously Toby’s a close mate of mine and he said that something happened on the way down the race. I don’t think the Bulldogs fans were too happy with Toby.

“Something along those lines happened and the club are looking into it.”

Greene ( pictured) was charged for the fifth time this season when his boot made contact with the face of the Bulldogs midfielder. Dahlhaus was forced to leave the field for medical attention which included a staple to his chin.

“It was a shock,” Dahlhaus said. “I just turned around and went to tackle someone and there was a boot in my face.”

Greene, who has been twice banned for striking this year, will attract an extra week if the incident attracts a base sanction of two or more matches.
