Doin’ hard time in Lisbon

A BUSHIE spy says he spotted former pensioner travel scheme rorter, travel agent Xana Kamitsis, in Lisbon, Portugal enjoying a new life.

Cop this in marriage survey

AUSTRALIANS are being encouraged to call the cops on people who tamper with samesex marriage survey forms. Interestingly a post from failed NT Labor candidate, police Senior Sergeant Geoff Bahnert’s Facebook account encouraged a woman on the website Buy, Swap and Sell, who received some other people’s forms, to “just fill them in”.

Legal job on the side?

BUSHIE recently revealed how Tourism Minister Lauren Moss had a namesake in Leggoland. Well, the Territory’s federal Indigenous Affairs Minister Senator Nigel Scullion has one in East Kilbride, Scotland who is a defence lawyer. During the week, he was defending a former Scottish professional footballer on drug charges.

Bright future with UN

FORMER Darwin lord mayor Katrina Fong Lim may soon have a key role with the Northern Territory division of the United Nations Association of Australia.

Power’s out on energy

JACANA Energy is use to holding all the cards. It used to have a government monopoly on power sales. It appears they still have a monopoly on atrocious customer service and the staff at the company’s call centre clearly don’t think too much of the inept company they work for. After more than an hour on the phone (much of it on hold) with one of Bushranger’s spies, one of the call centre supervisors this week hinted that rival Rimfire Energy, which has just entered the residential power market, couldn’t possibly do a worse job. “There are definitely other options out there,” she said.

Forced Labor, no way

FORMER NT Labor leader Delia Lawrie has come out swinging against speculation she had rejoined the party which spurned her in 2015. Bushranger revealed last week Ms Lawrie had been pulled into the ranks as the National Tertiary Education Union NT branch organiser, but, bucking the trend of strong unionists, she says she hasn’t signed back up to the Labor Party. She wrote on Facebook: “Ban fracking — Yes. Marriage equality — Yes. Union strong — Yes. ALP member — No.”

Love is working out

THE secret to the Northern Territory’s most adorably in-love couple? Walks and workouts together along Nightcliff foreshore. Laetitia Lemke and actor Rob Col

lins have been seen walking the trail and helping each other work out on the public equipment.

Croc fight goes public

CROCODYLUS Park owner Giovanna Webb was a keynote speaker at this week’s Regional Development Australia Kimberley Economic Forum presenting on the crocodile industry and tourism. She struck a chord with operators on the subjects of Government’s funding loss-making enterprises such as the Territory Wildlife Park that directly compete with private enterprise and the importance of more direct international flights.
