Smack Dab in middle of reckoning

- JOSH SPASARO

IT will be hard to go past the Brian Kelleher-trained Smack Dab in the race seven $1750 SBA Office National Sprint at the Winnellie Park greyhounds tonight.

Lining up again in the longer 537m event, the threeyear-old bitch won by five lengths over that distance last Sunday night.

Graeme Ferns’ Dust and Sand must come into calculations, while Pepper Beach (Jamie Hosking) is an improving type.

Darwin’s two leading trainers at the moment, Russell Savige and Hosking, appear to have the main chances in race one with Reagan and Trelly Kneels respectively.

Newcomer Fabulous Story for Greg Pickard has nice interstate form lines going into race two.

Arnhem Mayhem ( Hosking) has been impressive since arriving in Darwin last month and from box one will take a power of beating in race three.

Joel Vansleve appears to have his charge Spyro Ignitus relocating his best form so is the top pick in race four.

Quiet achiever Andrew Lasker has Henson Hill in a winnable 537m run in race five.

Greg Milne has Summer Sprite flying and from box two is once again a leading contender in race six.

Nick Day has Mahjong Lad ticking over nicely and box eight should suit him in race eight.

Leta Smith would be pleased with her new addition to the kennel, Elite Falcon, and has another winnable run in race nine.

Even though she is coming back in distance from 537m to 383m, with early luck Del Rey will take holding out in race 10.

She produced a superb comeback win in the $1750 Sky Channel Territory Sprint last Sunday.

And Hans Spykers has laststart winners Priya Monelli and Lektra Peck ticking over nicely and they are in the mix in race 11.
