THE EYES HAVE IT
It’s tempting to find a celebrity or somebody who has liner you admire, but it’s important to pick the right person and style
INSTAGRAM is the most used app to go to for all things beauty. But did you ever wonder why, when you recreate a look from Instagram, it more than likely ends up looking nothing like the picture? A winged liner on someone with a almond-shaped eye will never look the same as someone with a deep set eye.
Instagram is where we see beauty in the most exaggerated and overly filtered form.
With this in mind, one of the hardest make-up looks to recreate is eye make-up.
Eye make-up cannot be replicated unless you have the exact eye shape as the girl wearing it. Let’s be honest — with all the editing apps available, the make-up you see isn’t how it looks in real life.
Firstly, identify what eye shape you have. This will help you when you want to recreate a look. A deep set eye or hooded eyelids can be tricky when doing eye make-up, but there are some tricks to keep in mind when doing make-up on this eye shape.
Use a lighter shade on the inner corner and middle of your eye, and blend out using a darker shape to the outer corners.
This will open your eyes and help create a more almond-shape eye. A couple of celebrities with a deep set eyes are Angelina Jolie and Keira Knightly.
I would also recommend to look at women with similar colouring to you.
I once had a client with auburn hair and pale skin wanting to recreate make-up that Kim Kardashian was wearing.
This would never suit my client — instead she should look to people with similar colouring like Emma Stone or Isla Fisher.
