THE Northern Territory Education and Care Awards promote outstanding achievement across the early childhood and school age education and care sector in the Northern Territory.
These awards give recognition to educators and services in education and care settings that are innovative in their approaches and demonstrate exceptional commitment to ensuring quality outcomes for children and their families.
The awards are open to educators and services in long day care, family day care, three-year-old kindergarten, preschool, outside school hours care, budget based fund- ed and other remote early childhood services, playgroups and other programs catering for children aged from birth to five years.
The awards were estab- lished in 2013 by the Northern Territory Government Department of Education and the Key Stakeholder Advisory Group (KSAG) for early childhood and school age education and care. KSAG members represent government and non government stakeholders from across the sector, including service and training providers, peak bodies and unions.
The awards attracted 66 nominations from across all early childhood and outside school hours care programs.
Congratulations to the 2017 award winners who received a commemorative trophy and $3000 for professional development and/or quality improvements in their service.
