More choices at Seymour

-

SEYMOUR College has introduced a unique framework for the middle school.

Rapid changes to the global economy, industry and social constructs demand that schools reform to ensure that our young learners are divergent thinkers, who are able to manage changing technologies, critically analyse information, collaborate effectively with others and ultimately communicate creative solutions.

Seymour College Principal, Kevin Tutt said middle school girls arrived on Seymour Col- lege campus with a sense of adventure and a real thirst for knowledge.

“They may not know what direction they want to go in life, but they are eager to learn as much as they can in the meantime,” he said.

“To maximise opportunities for every girl at this age, Seymour continues to expand and strengthen its Middle School elective subject offering.”

As Seymour girls progress through middle school, they will tackle real-world problems and encounter fascinating new industries.

By the time the girls reach Year 9, electives include philosophy and psychology, marketing and design and even medical science, where students can discover the complex world of biology, physiology, biochemistry and neuroscience and explore a range of allied health professions in practice.

“We’re providing more subject choices than ever before, so our girls can really show us what they’re made of. Every Seymour middle schoolgirl will find something she connects with,.” Mr Tutt said.
