TERRITORY police are calling for witnesses to an alleged assault which occurred in Alice Springs in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Commander Michael White said a 32-year-old man was assaulted by up to three unknown male offenders between 2am and 3am.

The incident happened between Tuncks Rd and the Stott Tce roundabout.

Police are asking anyone who witnessed the incident or was in the vicinity at the time to come forward.
