Territory kids build the nation
DARWIN’S kids are discovering the nation’s capital by building their own version from Lego.
Both children and adults got their hands on 30,000 Lego bricks to build some of Canberra’s most iconic structures, as a part of the Brick by Brick: Build Your Own Capital exhibition at the Casuarina library. The interactive exhibition was developed by the National Capital Authority to teach young Territorians about the significance and history of Canberra.
NT Senator Nigel Scullion hoped the exhibition could inspire children to become active civic citizens.
Acting Lord Mayor Rebecca Want de Rowe said it was important to learn about the city where the big decisions were made.
