By George, what a star
LEROY George has inspired Melbourne Victory to a comeback 3-2 win over Perth, reigniting an A-League finals run.
Kosta Barbarouses scored a 90th-minute winner but it was George who set up Victory’s three goals last night at AAMI Park.
Goals from James Troisi and Mark Milligan put Victory ahead after Scott Neville had opened the scoring for the faststarting Glory.
Diego Castro looked to have denied Victory a deserved three points when he latched onto an Andreu through-ball to chip Matt Acton.
But one last slice of brilliance from the winger ensured Victory the win in Leigh Broxham’s milestone 250th appearance for the club.
His last-gasp ball over the top was perfectly controlled and hit by Barbarouses, sparking mad scenes in the rain.
