NT Air fishing guide Tim Henderson described what their tours involved.
“Picture this … up before dawn, gear organised. Briefed for the day ahead, water and food packed. Walk out to the waiting machine … doors off, climb in and fire up off we go,” Mr Henderson said.
“The sun rising in the East we’re going bush out to where not many can go. Flood waters and scrub roll beneath your feet as you marvel at the size and space in this great part of the world. An hour passed by in the blink of an eye. Check out the snags, the bends and the colour changes from above and land where possibly no one has before.
“This is the untouched Northern Territory. Tides are right, water temp is spot on. There’s bait moving around. Work with your guide to nail the right lure and techniquenow you’re fishing.
“Run off is the time of year the fish and the fishos are both excited to be there.”
