Quick Miss to take catching

- JOSH SPASARO

MISS Mamie is a progressive type who can run solid times.

For that reason she must come into calculations for the race-six feature $1750 Ladbrokes Up For The Challenge Sprint (537m) at Winnellie Park tonight.

Russell Savige’s two-yearold bitch will face stiff opposition, including kennelmates Lost In Orbit, Tyler Lee and Quintus Maximus (all for Jamie Hosking).

Graeme Ferns (Darwin Greyhound Association’s equal third-leading trainer with 33 wins) has been going well of late.

His runner Elfern looks ideally drawn in box eight for race one.

Tiger’s Spark (Harrison Brown) has not been too far away of late and appears to get a good chance to break through in race two.

The speedy Hurricane Chloe (Savige) should be suited out of the coveted numberone box and may take catching in race three.

There seem to be a number of chances in race four.

They include Choice Way, who may be suited in the wide draw over this distance for Hosking.

Race five should be a cracker with the Winnellie Cup drawing closer.

The one to beat is Arnhem Mayhem (Hosking), and with early luck he should be hard to hold out.

The Chris Blackman pair of Barbie’s Chance and Distant Shores are also in the mix.

There are plenty of chances in race seven, including the Leta Smith pair of Elite Falcon and Imitate, who both should be suited in this grade.

Quality performer Dust and Sand has been freshened-up and even over the short trip is capable of a bold showing in race eight.

Andrew Lasker looks to have Unpossible heading back towards her best form, which will make her the one to beat in race nine.

There was nothing wrong with the way Vestiarius (Hosking) went last start.

This will make him the top selection in race 10.

But Vunivalu (Brad Yates) and Mudrush (Smith), drawn inside him, with early luck in running no doubt can make him work hard.
