Savige’s four in box seat

- JOSH SPASARO

LEADING Darwin greyhound trainer Russell Savige will again be prominent over the 537m distance, with promising Miss Mamie engaged in the race-six feature $1750 Sage Contracting Sprint at Winnellie Park tonight.

Kennelmates Allen Ichiro, Yaringa Lass and Har are also in the mix.

They will face opposition from Unpossible (Andrew Lasker) and quality performer Dust and Sand (Graeme Ferns).

Race one is a tricky one to start an excellent night of racing, and Willing (Lasker) returns from a lengthy break and commands respect from box one.

Sweet Crystal is performing well and she gets another chance to find herself back in the winners’ circle for Brad Yates in race two.

There are plenty of chances in a good race three line-up, including Heartbreak Hotel for Chris Blackman. Box eight will suit him.

Choice Way (Jamie Hosking) is open to improvement from box one in race four.

The track was on fire when Arnhem Mayhem (Hosking) flew running a sizzling 18.01 seconds over 312m last start.

He will be hard to beat in race five, but Elite Falcon (Leta Smith), Fabbenz (Ferns), Mileeka (Simon Nathanael) and Hawk Glide (Ferns) all have good ability.

There appears to be a handy newcomer for Steele Bolton’s kennel in Kraken Bolt, and he warrants close attention in race seven.

He will be tested by Swansea Shannon (Ferns), Arctic Willow (Savige) and Vestiarius (Hosking).

There was a lot to like about Rapido’s win for Savige last start, and even back in trip he will take holding out in race eight.

Dark Kepper has been freshened-up for Ferns and he is capable of a bold showing in race nine.

Weeona Paddy appears to be ideally drawn and will take a power of beating in race 10.

Triple Crown Fox (Hosking) will be a major player in race 11.
