Dead celebrities shoot falling targets
IF you had been at NT Field and Game last week you would have thought you had gone to heaven. Such were the number of Dead Celebrities having a shot. Speaking of heaven, the Fishing and Outdoor World tower was sending targets from a place closer to God than most of the shooters ever expect to be.
Many are known to be fornicators and drunks at the very least.
The shoot was a huge success, backed up by reliable equipment.
Gone are the days of busted clays off the traps frustrating the shooters. So much so the club put on a flush event following presentations.
This will be repeated this morning from 11am after the normal run of skeet, Five Stand Sporting and baskets from the manual traps around the range. Brenton ‘Wondr’ Slade top gunned with 62. Two very creditable scores were shot by the sub juniors, Les ‘Rick’ Harris and Billy ‘Elvis’ Burke.
Those boys went into a tense shoot off with Les emerging the victor.
The ladies’ division was well supported with two more completing the Harris trifecta on the podium.
Mum, Tania ‘Dr Seuss’ Harris took out first, with newcomer Sandra Janeway second and daughter Karli Harris third.
Other passed celebrities remembered were Janis Joplin, That Mexican and Steve ‘Goose Hunter’ Irwin.
The Simulated Field course was the complete challenge with a mix of close targets that almost everyone could score on and some long shots that really tested the shooters.
I would say the choke tubes were furiously exchanged at some of the stations, such was the variance in presentations.
