- NATHANIEL CHAMBERS

TERRITORY kids are invited to take part in the upcoming Term 2 NAB AFL Auskick sessions kicking off in the next few weeks.

Many of the Territory’s best footballers found their starts in the sport through Auskick, with the sessions being an important stepping stone for junior players aged between five and 12 years old.

In weekly sessions kids explore the world of AFL, building football skills and playing in a safe and fun setting.

The NAB AFL Auskick program has been designed to let kids learn through play and fosters a fun environment.

NAB AFL Auskick starts from the very beginning, teaching all kids the basics of Australian Football while building fundamental motor skills and learning what it means to play as part of a team.

Recognised across the country as one of the most competitively priced sport programs, NAB AFL Auskick has delighted kids and parents alike for over 20 years.

AFLNT game development program manager Nicole Hyland cited Auskick as the original training grounds of a number of the best current NTFL stars.

“Auskick is the perfect way to start off learning how to play footy for any boys or girls between five and 12 years old,” Hyland said.

“It’s the perfect place to start learning the fundamental skills and movements of the game and we have different levels to suit a range of different skill levels.

“If you look at any of our best players at the moment they all started at Auskick and they played their juniors and got into club footy from there.’’
