YOUR GAMES YOUR WAY
Bringing you the Birmingham 2022 Commonwealth Games in more ways than ever
If there is one thing Australians love it is watching our most talented athletes competing against the best on the world stage. We saw it last year with the incredible response to our national team’s performance at the Covid-delayed Tokyo Olympics – and we are about to repeat the performance at the Commonwealth Games in Birmingham.
Australia is sending its largest and most competitive teams ever assembled for an away Commonwealth Games.
The contingent of athletes of all ages represent the best of what this country has to offer. They are offthe-charts talented, humble and they couldn’t be more proud to be wearing the national uniform. From July 28 to August 9, more than 5000 athletes and paraathletes from 72 countries and territories in the Commonwealth will compete for 1875 medals.
It is going to be quite an event and one that could not come at a better time for a sports-loving community which, unfortunately, is still coping with the tail of the Covid pandemic.
What better way to take our minds off the lasting impacts of Covid than to watch athletes who are the best at what they do compete for international glory?
To make sure you don’t miss out on any of the action, we are taking a team of 17 of our best journalists, digital experts and photographers to Birmingham, our largest-ever Commonwealth Games contingent to go overseas.
We will provide around-theclock coverage on all of our digital platforms, as well as special lift-outs in our printed newspapers.
And for the first time, we will produce The Games – a special digital print edition exclusive to our subscribers. The Games will drop on our digital apps early in the mornings every day of the event to bring you the latest news, results, interviews and imagery from overnight.
We will also have regular expert commentary from the likes of champion swimmer James Magnussen and a full highlights guide to make sure you don’t miss any of the action.
The only thing left to do is to sit back and enjoy the
Aussie gold rush.
