No LIMITS!

Have you gone and spoken to them nicely, quietly, explained how it’s affecting you? Music is not allowed at that time by the way, you should have called the police.

There’s a way and means of saying something. Ensure to approach your neighbours rst… Maybe don’t bombard them with everything but more the most major thing that is impacting you as a family. Be pleasant and

ngers crossed things improve!

You can’t choose your neighbours. Barking dogs and a free range cat aside, I’ve won the neighbour lottery. They look after me in an unobtrusive way such as checking if I’m okay, and putting the bins out. I’m sure I do things that annoy them like let my lawn grow too long sometimes, play uncool music late at night, have cooking sprees at ungodly hours, etc. Try to be tolerant and look at solutions from your side such as turning on the radio so you can’t hear the dogs barking, plant a bush to help with cigarette smoke. Let harmony prevail. Patricia Tate

Sometimes it is not safe to go speak to some neighbours. If you genuinely don’t feel you can, please talk to the letting agent. When the music is loud, call police. As for the cigarette smoke, that’s a tough one, maybe if you can talk to them you could say that you have allergies to cigarette smoke and you’d really appreciate it if they could smoke away from your windows. For the dogs, are they being mistreated or neglected? That’s usually the cause. Call your local council. Kym Rogers

You need to put your big girl pants on and speak to them. If after that nothing changes, then look at reporting them for noise complaints as needed but really there’s not much else you can do. Sadly, it’s a part of society that we aren’t always going to get along with neighbours, it’s a lucky dip. Good luck. Patricia Honeysett
