AOC’s G2460VQ6 is a budget AMD FreeSync monitor that aims to please gamers with its refresh rate of 75Hz. The 24in full HD display also has anti-blue light technology, which is designed to let you play games for longer.

Build quality and design

AOC is limited by its stand: you can only tilt it backwards and forwards 20- and five degrees, respectively. Plus, despite the stand having a thick frame, we found it wobbled. You can, however, mount the G2460VQ6 on a VESA 100x100mm stand.

On the plus side, we really like the AOC’s styling, which fits well with AMD’s red colour coding. On the righthand side you’ll find the monitor’s control buttons. These let you access the monitor’s input settings, adjust the volume, open the menu and cycle through the preconfigured game modes.

The AOC’s design is really well thought out, with the red plastic part of the monitor curving by the AOC logo on the front. Despite being made out of plastic, the display’s frame and base are finished with a brushed aluminium look, which gives it a classier look than you might expect at this price. The bezels are medium in size: thinner than those found on the BenQ RL2460HT, yet thicker than the thin bezels found on the Asus VN247H.

The screen has a matt coating, which allows it to be viewed in bright conditions without reflections. Finally, the monitor also has a Kensington Lock slot to deter thieves.

Connectivity and on-screen display

There’s a good selection of inputs, including HDMI, DisplayPort, D-Sub (VGA) and an auxiliary 3.5mm jack. We were a little surprised not to see a DVI input, but it’s better to use a DisplayPort slot.

The monitor has a pair of 2W speakers, which are useful to have, though we didn’t find them accurate or powerful. You can output and input sound through two separate 3.5mm auxiliary jacks.

The OSD is easy to use and had all the options we wanted, including Dynamic Contrast Ratio, gamma preset and colour temperature. One interesting feature that isn’t offered by other manufacturers is Bright Frame, which lets you take a particular section of the screen and tweak its brightness. There’s also Overdrive, which brings down the response time. Build Features Performance Value
