IN CONJUNCTION WITH our sister publications APC and PC Gamer ( www.pcgamer.com), this month, we’ve put together a special bonus DVD that contains a selection of the top free games for PC, which have all been cherry-picked by PC Gamer’s experts — so unlike many other free games, they’re all actually fun to play!

Although we haven’t been able to include every game on PC Gamer’s list, we’ve crammed as many onto the DVD as possible, which you’ll nd bound-in next to this contents page. HOW TO USE THE DISC Note that the DVD is actually more of an ‘interactive feature’ than a standard cover disc. While we may not have been able to include all 50, the full list — along with screenshots and our reason for liking each — is included on the disc. Where we haven’t been able to provide a speci c game (which, in many cases, is because the game is hosted online and is played in a browser), we’ve included a link to the game’s site, where it can either be played directly or downloaded. us, the games in the feature fall into three categories:

* On the disc: You’ll nd the installer on this disc — just save the game le to your PC (either an EXE or ZIP le) and run from your local drive.

* Download from web: Some games aren’t freely distributable or were simply to big to squeeze onto our disc, so in these cases, we’ve included a link to the game’s site where you can download the installer yourself.

* Play in browser: ese are web-based games that are hosted and played directly online — simply click the link and the game’s website will open in a new browser tab and you can start playing immediately.
