READ BOOKS AND SHORT STORIES FOR FREE Free with IAP | inkitt.com

- [ CARMEL SEALEY]

You turn over the last page and sadly put down the book you’ve just finished. You look up and realise, in horror, that you don’t have a new one to start on. Problem. You could go to your local library and browse the selection or waddle off to a bookshop, or there’s Inkitt.

While you won’t find JRR Tolkien, Stephen King, JK Rowling or Richard Dawkins here — what Inkitt is all about is community-written novels: basically, writers who haven’t found a publisher yet. Don’t let that fact turn you away, though, for there are some real gems to be found here. The books are reviewed and rated by the community, so finding something worthwhile is as easy as browsing your desired genre and finding the best rated books. It’s easy to search by genre, most popular or new releases, and you can stay up to date on what’s going on in the community through the Feed.

Once you find a book you like, hit the bookmark icon and you can download the volume and read happily offline. Plus, if you’re a writer yourself, you can contribute to the community and Inkitt claims to be able to help you get published if your work is super successful in the app.
