Listen Notes is a search tool for podcasts, and a decent one at that. It’s a barebones approach, with a simple search bar and the ability to either sort results by relevance or date, but the beauty of Listen Notes lies in its ability to hunt for related keywords rather than just particular podcast or episode titles. For instance, the top result of our search for “modular synthesis” was ‘Matt Carlson’, the episode name from the podcast KEXP Presents Sonarchy Radio in which the titular artist performs ‘modular and analog digital synthesis’. Good luck finding that without either having already known about, or been subscribed to, that particular podcast or episode. Once you’ve found your podcast, you can listen to it in your browser with a simple web media player, or download it for later, but with most podcast enthusiasts already having their preferred app, Listen Notes serves better as a search tool than a player.
