Ninja Spinki Challenges
LOTS OF ANNOYING MINI-GAMES.
WHEN FLAPPY BIRD took over the world back in 2013, opinion was roughly split between those who thought it was an awful novelty and those who loved its minimal approach to hardcore arcade difficulty.
Even those in the latter camp seemed inclined to view it through an ironic lense — here was a game which seemed to flagrantly rip (or copy) assets from other popular games while achieving global notoriety for its moreish yet banal gameplay. It felt like a grim culmination of all the shovelware that floods Google Play and the App Store, but importantly, it was just as fun as it was infuriating.
So here is Ninja Shinski Challenges — a collaboration between Dong Nguyen’s GEARS studio and Japanese studio Obokaidem — as simplistic, challenging and addictive as Dong’s best known game, but this time it comes in six vaguely different varieties requiring the player to guide the nominal ninja away from obstacles.
It’s annoying, completely annoying, absolutely a huge stupid waste of time, but you’ll probably spend at least two weeks playing it on every commute, because deep down, you hate your spare time.
