Belkin MIXIT Power RockStar 10,000
A HIGH-ENERGY COMPANION THAT YOU’LL WANT WITH YOU AT ALL TIMES.
AS YOU MIGHT have guessed from the name, Belkin’s MIXIT Power RockStar 10,000 is a power bank that carries 10,000mAh of charge — a capacity that’s somewhere between two and three times your average portable-battery bank. You’ll want to make sure you have either a backpack, well-structured handbag or grenade belt to carry it on, however, since the extra capacity makes it considerably more cumbersome than its smaller competitors.
That said, if you can manage to smuggle it with you, having that extra power is a rewarding luxury. Getting an extra phone-charge or two out of the Power Rockstar means you can plug your phone in for its regular overnight re-juicing and then still have a spare charge for the following day. Alternatively, for those with multiple devices, you won’t have to prioritise you power bank usage, since the Power RockStar can simultaneously charge a second smartphone or tablet using its two 2.4-amp USB outputs. This sleek metal chassis integrates an LED charge indicator and also includes a micro-USB to USB Type-A cable for charging Android devices, plus an additional Lightning cable for any iPhone/iPad users, but you can conceivably plug in anything that charges via USB (and rest easy about its safety, with Belkin’s $2,500 connected equipment guarantee).
The MIXIT Power RockStar is a little too unwieldy, physically, for us to outright recommend it as a replacement for an ultra-portable threeor four-thousand milliamp power bank, but in testing, we got a lot of use out of the MIXIT Power RockStar 10,000 in any circumstance that didn’t require us to carry it in our pocket.
