AUSTRALIA’S RANKING ON AKAMAI’S GLOBAL LIST OF AVERAGE BROADBAND SPEEDS
Based on reports from US-based web company Akamai, Australia is still ranking 50th in the world for broadband speeds, which puts us significantly behind countries such as Kenya and Romania. Despite our average connection speed rising quarter-on-quarter by around 10%, this wasn’t enough to bump us up any rankings on the world stage from last year. Even our average NBN speed (which was 55.7Mbps) was ranked 64th in the world for that particular category.
