IT’S HARD TO get interested in politics and current affairs if you’re just absorbing it through the regular news channels. It’s all doom and gloom most of the time, and you only get the same handful of stories repeated over and over, with the occasional ‘fun’ piece thrown in. Presenters report developments with stony faces and experts analyse issues with very little regard for entertainment, often resulting in a viewer switching over to Netflix or sport, or falling asleep on the train home.
