Sensoria T-Shirt Short Sleeve + HRM
C’MON, LET’S SWEAT.
THE SMART T-SHIRT is the male version of Sensoria’s Smart Sports Bra, with a HRM chest strap embedded into the upper part of the torso. The heart-rate monitoring was as accurate as other standalone chest straps we’ve tested, and if you have an HRM already from the likes of Polar or Garmin, this can be used interchangeably with the T-Shirt.
After trying both types of HRM, we prefer the standalone chest strap. Having the HRM module on the outside of the shirt, where it attaches with two clip-on buttons, looks too conspicuous for our liking, and the end result was that we ended up feeling very selfconscious when wearing it at the gym.
The T-shirt isn’t very comfortable to wear, either. It’s quite fitted by design, as the chest strap needs to be in close contact with your skin to detect a heart-rate, but if you’re rocking anything other than a six pack, it shows off every bulge in unforgiving detail. The use of nylon fabric, which isn’t very breathable, also means you’ll sweat more than usual. If you don’t need extra encouragement to perspire profusely, this could well be the deal-breaker.
