PLENTY OF APPS let you track water consumptio­n, but they’re all reliant on manual entry. The HydraCoach brings some intelligen­ce to the game, using a monitoring system that measures every time you drink water and displays the stats on a simple LCD screen. At a glance, you can see how you’re tracking percentage-wise relative to your daily water intake goal, and your total fluid intake.

The HydraCoach is a relatively inexpensiv­e way to reap the numerous benefits of maintainin­g hydration levels — including increased energy, assisting with weight loss, boosting immunity — with minimal effort. Based on your height and weight, it recommends the optimum amount of water you should drink daily (in our case, 2.3L).

The ease with which HydraCoach quantifies the amount of water you drink works well for making you mindful of your daily fluid consumptio­n. You’ll just have to remember to start and stop the fluid monitoring every day. It’s not dishwasher-safe, either, and while it’ll monitor every sip, it won’t vibrate or make a sound to remind you to drink water at regular intervals.
