APPARENTLY, SOME PEOPLE JUST PREFER THE FAKE STUFF...

Facebook may have unleashed a set of tools to combat fake news, but they don’t seem to be very effective. A story labelled ‘disputed’ often goes viral — thanks to reverse psychology playing its part — the label itself tends to appear only after the news has spread like wildfire or fake stories remain on the site for a substantial amount of time without being tagged. Facebook has refused to reveal any data to prove whether its system is working or not.
