US VISA APPLICATIONS NOW REQUIRE SOCIAL MEDIA DETAILS

Overseas travellers applying for a US visa will now be required to provide details of their social media handles and personal biography spanning back 15 years. A new questionnaire that’s to be part of the application was approved in May and is “required to confirm identity or conduct more rigorous national security vetting”. The US State Department estimates 65,000 people will be affected by this screening process each year.
