APPLE TAKES ON VR AND AR
In addition to launching a VR-ready AIO 27-inch iMac, a dedicated graphics enclosure that connects to Macbooks via Thunderbolt and Steam VR for MacOS, the Cupertino company also made a big push into smartphone AR by releasing the ARKit dev-kit on iOS. Since the company didn’t offer any VR-compatible units until WWDC, the new AMD Radeon RX-powered units and updated Metal 2 API announcements represent a bold entry into the VR space.
