Sensoria Fitness Socks

FOR AVID RUNNERS ONLY.

-

THE SENSORIA FITNESS Socks track your foot landing technique, stride and cadence using textile sensors woven into each sock, giving you audio feedback and advice through the app while you’re running, such as whether you’re landing on your heel too much.

The accompanying Bluetooth anklet — which communicates information to your smartphone and magnetically clips to the front of either sock — doesn’t store any data, so bringing your smartphone for each run is essential. You can only track one foot at a time with the supplied anklet — or alternatively spend a further US$159 for an extra anklet.

Step tracking accuracy was on par with the Fitbit Charge 2, but calorie burn was way off as it’s calculated based on steps rather than heart-rate — even when a heart-rate monitor is connected.

You won’t win any fashion awards with these socks, but the thickness of the material is more of an issue. Expect your feet to get sweatier than usual during long runs.

Note: the second version of these socks were announced at CES 2017 that fix most of these issues.
