AUTOPLAY VIDEOS ARE one of the modern web’s most common annoyances, and to shut them up, you usually have to manually do so on a case-by-case basis, or install a plugin to do it for you. Chrome’s own mute option silenced audio on a particular page for one session, but reloading that page meant you’d have to mute it again. The latest update to Chrome now sees that mute option work for a website on a domain basis, meaning you can easily silence every page on a website. To enable muting, right-click on the relevant tab and select ‘Mute Site’. This selection is saved, so the next time you open the site again it will remain blissfully quiet.
