As screen bezels continue to shrink with each new smartphone release, it’s not surprising that some innovations are brewing to accommodate the ever-vanishing edges. The Vivo Apex, while only a concept at this stage, is a phone that sports two incredibly neat features that allow for its miniscule 1.8mm bezels, and hopefully these will help bring the all-screen future a little bit closer. In the absence of a home button, the Apex is rocking an under-glass fingerprint scanner that activates anywhere within a large area (roughly a third of the screen) on the lower area of the display. Steering well and truly clear of the divisive notch idea, this flashy concept handset from Vivo tucks away its selfie camera in a small pop-up section at the top-left of the handset and also embeds the proximity sensors and earpiece beneath the glass.
