There are a multitude of apps available that help you find your phone via GPS, the most reliable of which likely come from the handset’s manufacturer, but knowing which street your phone is on isn’t very useful if you’ve lost it somewhere in your room. From the makers of Clap To My Find My Phone (which sucks by the way, don’t even bother) comes Whistle To Find My Phone, an app that does exactly what you think it does. You can adjust how your phone will respond to the whistle, activating flashlights, sounds, vibrations, lighting up your display, and any combination of the aforementioned chaos. There are some genuinely useful settings such as scheduling your phone not to activate the detection at certain hours, certain days or when hooked up to a charger (because you can presumably find it when it’s plugged into a wall) and the phone does seem to respond to a whistle fairly consistently. While the app seems reasonably inoffensive, the permissions required are a little invasive, your microphone will need to remain on, and you will be served a good amount of ads.
