OPEN AN ADJUSTMENT LAYER

Open the image in Photoshop. Click on the Create New Fill Or Adjustment Layer icon at the bottom of the Layers panel — it’s the half-white half black circle — and select Curves from the list of options. Click in the centre of the curve and drag down and to the right to darken the image slightly (Input 129/Output 128). Dragging up and to the left lightens.
