ALONGSIDE OUR GUIDE TO HANDY BLOGGING APPS, YOU CAN EVEN MAKE SURE YOU KEEP EVERYONE AT HOME GOOD AND JEALOUS ABOUT YOUR ADVENTURES.

CONSIDERING HOW MUCH I love to travel, I am very lucky to have a job that often involves a fair bit of it. In the last month or so, while my esteemed colleague Paul Taylor was handing over this fine publication to me, I’ve ticked off an impressive amount of air-miles, visiting Germany for the launch of Nvidia’s epic new graphics card, the RTX 2080, and visiting the St. Petersburg studios of one of my favourite developers, Wargaming, for a preview of some new and upcoming in-game content for World of Warships.

These trips do, however, tend to be rather short, so I added a few days onto my time in Germany to travel down to Geneva. And, earlier in the year, when my long service came up at a previous job, I spent a month overseas, bouncing between Iceland, the UK, and Morocco. Like I said - I really, really like traveling.

One thing that makes jetsetting about a lot easier these days is just how ubiquitous technology has become. Time was, you really had to nail down every aspect of a trip before you left your door, but with a smartphone or tablet on hand, and a degree of nouse, you can do all kinds of things on the fly that before would have been impossible. Booking travel, checking timetables, obsessing over maps and travel routes can all be done with a device that sits in the palm of your hand. And that same device can also go a long way toward being the only camera you need, too. I often travel with a DSLR, but these days the only thing I use it for is its long lense, for the odd bit of wildlife photography. My trusty phone is generally just fine for everything else.

But even I can still learn a thing or two, and this month’s cover feature has done just that. From handy apps for checking flights (that’s gonna be a huge time-sink!), to handy tech, and more, I’m sure our Tech You Can Take With You feature will reveal some neat secrets to even the most seasoned of wanderers.

And on top of that, we’ve even got a Photography Masterclass on one of my things to do while on the road - landscape photography! Alongside our guide to handy blogging apps, you can even make sure you keep everyone at home good and jealous about your adventures.

And hey - if you take Tech Life with you, you’ll even have some great reading while you’re at it!
