BOSCH LANDS HEFTY SUM TO PUT DRIVERLESS CARS ON VICTORIA’S ROADS
GERMAN INNOVATION DOWN UNDER.
German engineering firm Bosch has been granted $2.3 million by the Victorian government to put the first driverless cars on the state’s roads. Bosch is the first company to receive a grant under the new Automated Driving System (ADS) authorisation scheme, and plans to test the first vehicle on high-speed rural roads by the middle of 2019 where, according to acting Premier Jacinta Allan, drivers are five times more likely to be die in an accident than in cities.
