Bigger, better and hidden televisions

-

EVERY YEAR CES is the time for the big brands to announce their latest televisions. They present their new offerings over the course of one day, mostly trying to one-up each other on the biggest or brightest television and to be the talk of the show. If you’re still getting used to what it means to own a 4K television then you’ll be thrilled to know 8K models will be on sale this year. Sony, Samsung and LG all displayed 8K TVs from 65- to 98-inches and while completely spectacular to look at, we don’t have the content, delivery method, or ambition for 8K yet. The only real benefit is the added pixels in the huge size, allowing for greater upscaling opportunities. Not to be a one trick pony, LG also announced a TV that unrolls upward from a 4.2 channel Dolby Atmos soundbar. It is a 65 inch 4K OLED TV that can completely hide when not in use, so your view of the beach is never obstructed by the television… unless you want to watch TV. And assuming you have beach views.
