OPEN APPS FASTER

Spotlight is always on hand to help you open apps, but sometimes its efforts to intelligently anticipate what you’re looking for mean the app you want is bumped down the list of results, which wastes your time in having to find and click it.

If that’s familiar, open apps using Launchpad instead. Its search bar has the keyboard focus as soon as you open it, waiting for you to type an app’s name, at which point it quickly filters the listed apps. Select one using the arrow keys and use Return to open it.
