TO GET HELP from Apple, at no initial cost, see the options at getsupport.apple.com. You can sign in with your Apple ID to bring up details of products you own. Specify that you have a hardware issue, then it can phone you or start an online chat to establish what can be done next to resolve your issue.

If you have an Apple Store nearby, you can make a Genius Bar appointmen­t at apple.com/retail/

geniusbar to take your Mac or device in for examinatio­n, or, after discussing the problem online, send it in by post.

Alternativ­ely, Apple can put you in touch with a local Authorised Service Provider, but it doesn’t offer a list until you go through a few questions about your problem at locate.apple.com/country. Search for ‘apple authorised reseller’ in Google, then click Maps to see where the nearest repairers are.
