DO MORE WITH SAFARI 01 REOPEN CLOSED TABS
Mistakenly closed a tab? Use History > Reopen Last Closed Tab or Cmd+Shift+T. To see tabs from further back, check the Recently Closed submenu there. If you’ve just closed the tab, pressing Cmd+Z also works.
04 MORE HISTORY
Go to History > Show All History for a list of all the pages you’ve visited over time. Find one you want to remove, then Ctrl-click it and delete. It‘s removed from Macs/iOS devices signed in to your iCloud account online.
07 SHOW FULL ADDRESS
By default, Safari only shows the top–level domain of sites you visit. Annoying if you’re unsure that clicking an internal link worked. Fix it with Safari > Preferences > Advanced and turn on ‘Show full website address’.
02 SET PAGE ZOOM LEVEL
To zoom in or out of a page, hold Cmd and press + or -. To make a specific site the same zoom level, go to it, choose Safari > Settings for This Website, then click the desired level of magnification.
05 PROTECT AGAINST PHISHING
With the status bar, you can put the pointer over a link to check its destination before you click, to avoid being misled. It’s off by default so to turn it on, use View > Show Status Bar.
08 ALWAYS VIEW IN READER
Reader makes pages easier to read by removing distracting clutter. To make this the standard, visit a site, then go to Safari > Preferences > Websites > Reader and click On in the site’s row.
03 MANAGE YOUR HISTORY
If you don’t want a page visit recorded in your history, choose File > New Private Window or use the keyboard shortcut Cmd+Shift+N. This renders it invisible to any and all iCloud devices.
06 REMOVE A SITE’S COOKIES
To manage website data stored on your Mac on a site–by–site basis, choose Safari > Preferences > Privacy and click ‘Manage website data’. Browse the list to find the rogue site and click Remove.
09 INCREASE FONT SIZE
Have trouble reading text on websites? You can up Safari’s minimum font size. Go to Safari > Preferences > Advanced. Next to the Accessibility heading, turn on ‘Never use font sizes smaller than’, and pick one.
