Razer Raiju Mobile

- [ DAVID HOLLINGWORTH ]

A FULL-FAT CONTROLLER FOR YOUR DAILY COMMUTE.

RAZER IS ONE of the most well-known names when it comes to PC and console gaming peripherals, and it’s now making a space for itself in the mobile gaming arena. It’s latest Razer Phone is an impressive chunk of smartphone goodness, and Razer’s now added a new, dedicated mobile gaming controller, based off it’s very good Raiju Xbox controller.

The Raiju Mobile is, out of the box, extremely impressively built, and its layout will be instantly familiar to users of its Xbox cousin. If you’re used to the crowded onscreen touch controls of games, the two thumbsticks, D-pad, triggers, and shoulder buttons will be a real boon, and the comfortable grip makes it ideal for sessions of any length. It’s quite sturdy, too, so you’ll have no worries about stashing it away in your bag once you get to the office.

Connection is not only via Bluetooth, but you’re worried about that sapping the battery of either device, you can connect your phone via the provided USB C cable – it’s also a handy length, so it doesn’t awkwardly dangle about your legs. The Raiju Mobile also holds your phone itself, firmly clamped in a vice-like structure that you can then set at the perfect viewing angle.

And it all just works! It connects seamlessly via either method, and while heavier phones do make it rather top heavy in the hand, in-game the Raiju Mobile completely change the mobile gaming experience – and it’ll work on your PC too. If you’re dedicated fan of mobile gaming, this is a worthwhile – if expensive – option.
