Moon Minute Monday A WEEKLY REMINDER OF HOW AWESOME THE MOON IS. moonmonday.space

If you’ve ever been remotely interested in the Moon beyond its vague crescent presence in the night sky, then this site will give you the fix you so desire. The passion project of sole creator and curator, Jatan Mehta, Moon Minute Monday offers up a weekly digest of Moon-related content, taking inspiration from NASA’s Astronomy Picture of the Day ( apod.nasa.gov/apod/astropix). Each post he makes (on a Monday, funnily enough) focuses on one particular geological or topographical feature of the Moon and explores it in a variety of ways – recounting its history, formation, scientific significance, or any combination of interesting tidbits. These posts also include imagery of the feature as well as a “you are here” map that allows you to click through and navigate the Moon in the same fashion you would Google Maps. If there’s a specific category of feature you’re most interested in, you can browse by that feature – craters, mountains valleys, and rilles are the current selection.

Nightwatch Experience TAKE A DEEP DIVE INTO ONE OF REMBRANDT’S FINEST WORK. nightwatchexperience.com/en

Whether or not you’re into Rembrandt, or art in general for that matter, this site by the Dutch Rijksmusem offers an incredibly interesting and interactive dive into one of his most famous artworks – The Night Watch. Naturally, this museum has a somewhat vested interest in this artwork, as it’s where the original is currently displayed, but nevertheless the page is excellent. After watching an animated video intro, the page lands on the painting itself, with some background music and a number of clickable links. Each of these links offers up some juicy history and detail via both text and voiceover on certain elements and contexts of the painting and its creator. If you’d prefer the info to be slightly more curated, you can go through the ‘highlights tour’ to see the most important parts, but sussing out such fine details as who the ‘unknown man’ is and why he’s wearing leaves on his head is worth the extra digging.

Foods Dogs Can Eat MAKE SURE YOUR POOCH SNACKS SAFELY. foodsdogscaneat.com

The title and URL of this website is almost all the description you need really, but here goes. Foods Dogs Can Eat is a database of regular human foods that lets you know whether or not your dog can eat them. You can search for an item to quickly discover if your pal can feast on rice or cabbage, for example (these are both fine), and the site will quickly spit back a ‘yes’ or ‘no’ and a brief elaboration on this answer. On top of this, the site offers some further detail on the intricacies of feeding your dog in general, noting the importance of factors such as quantity and specific preparation when it comes to determining the safety of the food. The page also offers incomplete lists of some of the more common fruit and veg dogs can safely eat, items that are certainly dangerous, foodstuffs that should only be eaten in small amounts or with caution, and a few commonly inquired-about examples.
