YOUR NEW NOTIFICATION CENTER

A big overhaul to the way your Mac delivers information.

>>> More versatile widgets

Apple will also implement the same widget versatility as its big forthcoming iOS 14/iPadOS 14 update. While in your Notification Center, you’ll be able to click on the “Edit Widgets” button to see a list of widgets not currently in your Notification Center – a sidebar will also let you jump to a particular category quickly – and you will be able to click, hold and drag them across to add them. Each widget will come in three different sizes that can be toggled by clicking on the “S,” “M,” or “L” icons below. The larger the widget, the more at-aglance info it can present, so widgets such as Calendar, Notes, and Reminders will prove very useful in their largest size.

However much you use your macOS Notification Center at present, this feature will undergo a huge redesign in Big Sur, making it more essential than ever for managing your world. The way you access your Notification Centre in Big Sur will be slightly different than before. It’ll no longer have its own icon in the far-right of your menu bar, instead you will just click on the menu bar clock to access it.

PANEL VIEW

Perhaps the most notable difference between the new and old Notification Center is that there will no longer be split sections for Today/Notifications – they will be grouped together in one handy panel. Your notifications will appear at the top of the panel while your widgets sit underneath. You will be able to click to expand your notifications and then click on an individual notification panel to respond in the respective app, or easily clear all of them or each one individually.

 ?? ?? You can edit your widgets the same as before, but now they come in three different sizes.
You can expand Notification Center to see more alerts and manage them easier.
